fade rift. shard specialisation.
This specialisation is dependent on the user a.) having an anchor shard, b.) having developed one or more of the abilities that come with it, and c.) wielding a piece of technology that Tony has developed, that he generally calls a 'focus', or a focusing device.
This focus is a worn glove/gauntlet-type device that is powered by a lyrium reactor. Its different capabilities are dependent on metal rings with runic inscriptions that circle the wearer's wrist, and they can be twisted in different ways to trigger the three active effects described below.
Active: Temporal shield
Twist the Veil around you to provide 360 degree cover in the form of time slowing down. Projectiles lose all momentum, magic attacks are lessened, and melee attacks are much easier to dodge. This effect lasts for six seconds, during which the wielder can only move within a few feet of themself before hitting and being affected by their own barrier.
Passive: Conversion
Stamina or mana are restored equal to the amount of damage the shield takes. In less video gamey terms, it's sort of a hit of adrenaline.
Active: Energise
A lightning-type expression of Fade energy that damages and stuns enemies. Range is a 30 foot line, and is a little wild and might get anything else if they're close enough.
Passive: Energiser
This effect is increased in damage output when in areas where the Veil is weakened, or nearest a Rift.
Passive: Amplify
In a radius of 20 feet, amplify the spells of mages by opening their connection to the Fade. May (definitely will) cause unpredictable results!
Passive: Attenuate
In a radius of 20 feet, weaken the spells of mages by stifling their connection to the Fade.
Active: Phase
Become incorporeal for six seconds. Very disorienting and slows down movement dramatically, unlike something like Fade Step, but would allow a quick escape through bars, an emergency means of avoiding all damage from an explosion, etc. For the wielder, the world takes on a strange Fade-like quality, everything rendered in green and translucency.
